Cost Savings For Dental Implants & Porcelain Veneers
The cost of procedures is typically at least 50% lower when compared with western countries such as Australia, countries in Europe or the United States.
For Porcelain Veneers BIDH has several options including the the most premium and sought after brand IPS Emax with the price per tooth between $500-$600 USD depending on how many veneers are being done (For under 5 teeth the price is around $600 USD, for 5 Veneers or more $500 USD per tooth). The whole process of veneers can be completed in under two weeks (tooth impressions, selecting color, tooth mockups, Tooth prepping, putting on temporary teeth, putting on the veneers, follow up visits for rechecking and adjustments), with significant savings for those doing more several teeth at the same time. In the United States or Europe IPS Emax typically range between $1200 to $3500 USD per tooth.
For Dental Implants BIDH has several options including the premium international brand Straumann which is a swiss made titanium implant – The cost of which is around ฿60,000 Thai Baht per tooth (Approximately $1900 USD). Straumann is the leader in dental implant technology around the world – it is the most common and prevalent brand. This should be noted because nearly all dentists around the globe will be able to work with Straumann, and for those that get an implant internationally, it is important that when returning to their home country their local dentist will be able to handle it needed.
For those on a tighter budget, the SIC invent titanium implants are available. SIC invent is a high quality swiss-german brand which is also international recognized – The cost per tooth is around ฿35,000 Thai Baht (Approximately $1,100 USD per tooth). For Implants, if the root of the tooth is already removed, the procedure can be accomplished in about 10 days. However before a permanent crown can be affixed, the tooth needs time to heal (3-6 months), so the patient will have a temporary crown at this stage (with the ability to come back to put on the permanent crown, or to have it done in their home country).
Doing Dental Work in Thailand is More Fun.
The word for doctor in Thai is pronounced (Maw) & the word for tooth is pronounced (Fun). A dentist in the Thai language is called (Maw Fun). Part of the allure of doing the treatments in Thailand (besides saving money) is being able to mix in some fun and tourist activities in between or after treatments. For people who visit Thailand for dental work such as porcelain veneers or dental implants, often they need to stay for at least a few weeks to accomplish everything – giving them ample opportunity to explore and enjoy Thailand. There is something for everybody in Thailand (food, culture, nightlife, shopping, golf, temples, Muay Thai, palaces, etc) & Bangkok is always one of the most traveled to cities for tourists. So if you need to get dental work done, consider Thailand!
