Hotel Recommendations For Medical Tourists Going to Bumrungrad Hospital

One of the most common questions Health Tours Thailand receives from patients is where to stay while receiving care at Bumrungrad – And it is an important decision. Choosing the right accommodation is essential to making the most of a health tourism visit.

There happen to be many good options for people across any budget, however patients from abroad often make poor hotel selections – leading to overall experiences in Thailand that are not as good as it they could have been.

To help give as much guidance and information as possible, we thought it would be helpful to list out some of the best options, ranging from clean and convenient budget friendly options ($50 per night),  to luxury 5 star hotels ($200 dollars per night and higher) – All detailed in our recommendation list below.

Bumrungrad International Hospital – The highest rated private hospital in Thailand

Bumrungrad International is the number one hospital in Thailand and the most popular destination for Health Tours Thailand customers. The hospital is phenomenal, featuring the best doctors in Asia, immaculate facilities, the latest medical equipment and classic Thai hospitality. Bumrungrad really feels more like a resort than a hospital in many ways – In addition to healthcare, you will find shopping, restaurants, convenient stores, spas & VIP services all within its sprawling compound in the heart of Bangkok.

Pitfalls To Avoid When Choosing Accommodation For Medical Tourism Visits to Bumrungrad

Booking an hotel too far away – Dealing with Traffic

There are a huge amount of quality and convenient accommodation options within walking distance in and around Bumrungrad – what is truly key for medical tourists is to stay nearby the hospital. Bumrungrad is also located in the city center and there is so much to do in and around it – the location is ideal for any type of tourist who wants to stay in Bangkok, not only medical tourists. But be warned, the city center’s traffic presents a major obstacle for those that choose lodgings far away  – We recommend at mosts staying within 1-2 kilometers max from the hospital during a visit. Bangkok’s traffic can be overwhelming and people often get blindsided by the reality of it. So on paper choosing that nice hotel that you got a deal on (which is 5 or 10 kilometers away from Bumrungrad) might seem like a good choice, but later finding out it can take an 1 hour or longer to get to an appointment by car can easily sour your mood **This issue can be bypassed however if you are open to riding the BTS skytrain which does near to the hospital and is convenient, however this is not a viable option for many patients. Low Quality Options & Choosing a Hotel in the Wrong Neighborhood

Another thing to consider is the neighborhood Bumrungrad is – there are literally hundreds of options in this area with many options that are sub-par. Often people wind up choosing somewhere that on the surface seems okay, but for people with experience on the ground, would not have been recommended. Likewise it should be noted that here happens to be a red light/nightlife district not too far from Bumrungrad, with many hotel options there – it is entirely possible people can make mistakes and book accomodation in this subdistrict only to find out later that they are not comfortable there.

We recommend that you strongly consider the options we present to ensure your trip is a big success!

Or if you have another option in mind, run it by the Health Tours Thailand’s team for our opinion before booking.
