Many people are not aware of the healthcare infrastructure and advanced medical technology in Thailand. While the country is famous for it’s food and culture, Thailand is also home to some of the finest medical institutions in the world. The country provides state of the art procedures that are not available in most countries.
The article linked below from JNS.org covers the unfortunate situation of Banya Peretz, who was shot and in an attack in Israel and paralyzed. Determined to beat the odds and walk again, Banya traveled to Thailand to receive a revolutionary treatment which was unavailable in Israel. The treatment included an advanced surgery which implanted small electrodes that transmit signals from the brain across the body; as well as extensive exercise/rehabilitation. After several intense months, the first stage treatment is complete and Banya now able to move his arms and legs again.
